A letter from Leah

Dear Nana

This is the hardest letter I’ll ever have to write but I wanted to write to not say goodbye but see you later and thank-you.

Thank-you for being such a great Nana. I have so many wonderful memories of our time together when you visited Australia and when we visited you in Helston.

Some of my fondest memories are as a young girl and you would take me down the street for an ice-cream and the endless hours spent throwing the ball in the pool. I loved cooking with you; you made the best fairy cakes and Yorkshire puddings. And the beautiful dresses you made I’ll never forget.

Despite the distance we had so many wonderful Christmases together, the abundance of presents under the tree and your never ending dish of quality street chocolates. To this day we still carry on your tradition, no opening presents until all the dinner dishes are done. I still have your wooden tree decorations and use them each year.

My only regret Nana is that you never got to meet my wonderful husband Dean and our beautiful son Zac. But I know that you’ll be looking down from above and see how happy and content they make me.

I hope Zac and his brother due in February get to create the same wonderful relationship with mum and dad that we had with you and Grandad.
I take comfort knowing that in your final months you were surrounded by family and friends, thankyou Brenda and David for all that you have done.

Your now in a better place Nana reunited with Grandad and Duchess, I love you and miss you, may you rest in peace.

Love always Leah, Dean & Zac xxxxoooo
